Materials: drum, cardboard box or large pot turned upside down.

This peace practice helps us focus and develop good listening skills. Everyone get your drum ready.
  • Let’s take three, deep, peaceful breaths together.
    • Listen as I drum. When I stop, try to repeat the pattern just as you heard it. Sometimes it will be slow, sometimes fast. It might be loud, or soft, or a mixture of both.
    • Let’s practice:
      • Leader drums a pattern
      • All repeat
    • Listen carefully and be ready to repeat the drum pattern (practice several different patterns with participants repeating each one)
    • End with soft, slow drumming and three mindful breaths.
  • This week:
    • Try to practice taking turns listening and talking, this helps us build healthy and peaceful relationships with our friends and family.
